April Card Club

Ordered some stampin' stuff from Stampin' Up recently.  I didn't get to play with it until a few days ago.  Love the new papers, stamp sets and especially the doily die.  Here, I used Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper, Paper Doily Sizzlits Die, Tea Shoppe stamp set, Early Espresso Ink, blossom & decorative label punches, organdy ribbon (retired), True Thyme card stock (retired), and Basic Pearls accents from Stampin' Up.  I also used a Martha Stewart border punch on the designer paper and front layer of the card - pretty easy to match up.  The ribbon rose I purchased at Memories on 5th - closed now ;-(.  I think the assembly of this card is pretty easy to see so I won't go into detail there except to say I did use a "Gluber" from Archiver's on the back of the organdy ribbon yo-yo I made. They are basically a huge (and I mean HUGE!) glue dot.  I did use a little thread to help gather the ribbon up and then place on the gluber.  I found this much easier than trying to get it perfect by just laying the ribbon down as I go on the gluber.  Those things stick pretty well but you do have a little give if you want to move the ribbon over a bit to even it out if you do it right away.  If you let it sit for a while it's pretty much on there for good.  There was enough of a hole in the center of the ribbon yo-yo that the center of the blossom sticks good.  Peel the back off the gluber and stick down to your card front and you're good to go.  Make sure you get it in the right place cuz' on paper you ain't movin' it!
